Here are a few more shots from my birthday…..the one of just me….River took. It is times like these…when you watch what is going on in Japan…that you realize and remember how important family is…and living in the moment and appreciating all that you have….
It is a rainy day here today…and River has a sleep over this evening at her grandparents…so, of course, it was the perfect morning for a bath. And the perfect opportunity for some photos. I haven’t taken a photo of her in the tub for awhile…..how they grow….
Go out and embrace the camera….
While we were at the playground yesterday, I had to shoot some shots of River and I…….I was holding the camera..instead of setting it up somewhere…so you never know how the shots will turn out….but the sky was so beautiful…I wanted to try to capture it in the background…..of course River just wanted to be silly…I ended up with lots of shots of the underneath part of my nose..which is never too flattering…….but there were a few that were worth publishing…..
Embrace the Camera is inspired by Emily over at 3 boys and a little lady…….
River was giving me big squishy hugs…and then said…”take some pictures”….so she started giving me even more goofy hugs and squishy kisses…..and then Tuesday joined in….
Now, grab your camera..and embrace it….
It has become a bit of a routine for River and I….in the morning, while Tuesday and Quinn are getting ready for school….we hang out in bed together….she usually gets to watch a show and I try to catch some more zzzzz’s….though normally I end up just watching her show with her! Happy Thursday and go Embrace the Camera……
For this week’s Embrace the Camera, I decided to post one of my favorite family photos…..well, a family photo of me growing up…..this is one of my favorite family shots. I have five older brothers, so we didn’t get dressed up and go out to dinner very often. I believe it was my grandmother’s 70th birthday. This is definitely a classic family shot!
So for today’s Embrace the Camera…I decided to just grab my camera and snap some shots of myself….I told myself I had to put them up..no matter what…..
And I really like how they turned out..especially since River is in the background, crafting…..

Reading with River is one of the best parts of the day….all day long…she brings me books to read to her….I try to never say no…it is such a simple thing..yet, so important.
For this week’s Embrace the Camera…I’m going to talk about my obsession with my Facebook profile picture. Every month I spend hours getting a new picture just right……I am addicted to my theme….I always take the same picture…my right eye with some type of object.
I refuse to use any other type of picture for my profile picture…..all month I think about what object might be just right to use for my next photo.
It is a fun little way to express myself. I think it is interesting how people choose to represent themselves through their Facebook profile picture. Some people seem to take a lot of time thinking about their photos, some people seem to not care what their photo is….some people change their photo constantly, while others never change it. I change my photo every month…I try to do it on the first…but it doesn’t always work out that way. What about you…..do you change your Facebook profile photo often? Do you spend a lot of time thinking about your Facebook profile photo? Do you even use Facebook?
So, for this week’s Embrace the Camera (inspired by the anderson crew)…I thought I would like to have some photos of Quinn and I….so I sat us down in front of the Christmas tree…but, of course, River said she had to be in the photos with us…well…she thought she wanted to be in the photos……with us….
And, how could I say no…so…..here we are……well, sort of…River was bopping all around…but I got one good one of her..before she was on her way again……
