The painting continues……

After the murals were primed….River’s old room/Tuesday’s new room was ready to be painted.  Tuesday chose two shades of blue.  Things went pretty smoothly.  Two coats of each color and the room was done.  The furniture was moved back in…and one room is pretty much done…..pictures need to be hung, new curtains need to be bought/made, etc. etc….but it is pretty much done!!

Fourth of July……

I got a new phone over the weekend…..a Samsung Epic 4G….and it has a great little camera on it..  Over the weekend, instead of using my regular camera, I decided I would just use my phone camera.  I love how some of the photos turned out.  We had a great Fourth of July weekend..filled with fireworks and parades…

There is nothing like the look on a child’s face while they are watching fireworks..priceless…..

End of Go Dog Go Murals……

Well….we are slowly trying to get ready for these new little babies….only 8 weeks to go!  One of the first steps is to move my daughter, Tuesday, into River’s old room.  River had the smallest room and Tuesday had the biggest room.  River’s new room will now also be the babies’ room.  And the first thing that had to be done was painting.  Tuesday did not want a pink room and she didn’t want the Go Dog Go murals in her room!!  I was very sad.  I knew they would have to go some day…but I didn’t think it would be so soon!!

The primer went on first….over the murals!!  While Tuesday video taped the sad event..I set up the camera and put River in charge of taking the photos….Please ignore my large belly and butt in all these photos…I was in my painting clothes…and they hardly fit!!  It was very sad to see the murals go……

Embrace the Camera….

Today, River decided she wanted to bury some treasure….but there was one problem…there were BUGS OUTSIDE!!  She kept asking me why there were bugs outside.  I told her that we were in their home.  She wanted me to tell her the name of each bug….she said that would make her feel better about them.  Of course, I didn’t know the name of most..so I had to make them up!!  Her reactions to the bugs were hilarious….but once she noticed I was taking pictures..she started to giggle and laugh.

Then she decided to start making funny faces and she decided we both needed to make funny faces….

Inspired by Emily….even though she is on vacation….we are still Embracing the Camera….

Strawberry preserves…..

I’ve always wanted to make strawberry preserves..but I just felt too intimidated to do it.  I finally asked my mother-in-law to show us how to do it.  Yesterday, Tuesday, River and I all went over and learned how to make preserves!  It was a lot of fun and not too hard at all.  Now, I am really excited to make them on our own this weekend after we go strawberry picking!

Balloons……

River is balloon deprived. She loves balloons…but I don’t like balloons.  So she never gets a balloon.  Last week, she went to a restaurant and she got a balloon!  I truly think it was her FIRST balloon.  She was so excited, but, of course, it deflated by the end of the day.  So, the next day, I took her out and got her another balloon. She got to pick which balloon she wanted!  She was so excited.  That balloon went with us everywhere!!  Until the next evening…when the balloon met the ceiling fan….they didn’t like each other and the ceiling fan won.  So, the next day we had to get another balloon.  Who knew a balloon could bring such happiness!
