Things around here are topsy turvy and slow. I haven’t been sewing as much, but I am trying to get back into the groove of things. Doing a lot of facebooking and listening to some new music on Youtube. My latest love of music is Danielle ate the sandwich.

Anal Retentiveness…
While putting away the Christmas boxes (and there are MANY)…I am amazed at how anal retentive I am about things….this is just one example of the label on one of the boxes…I don’t know what is scarier….the strange sounding things or how detailed I am about it…
Special things…..
As I put away our Christmas decorations..and we have many…I am reminded how special some things are. For example I have three wise men that are approximately 12 inches tall. They were my grandmother’s. I have no idea where they were made, what they are made from or really, anything about them. All I know is that they were hers and she loved them dearly. When she died, I wanted them because I too had learned to love them.
Another item that we have is a set of manger people/characters that my mother made for my daughter, Tuesday. They were hand made by her and I love them dearly. They will be a treasured item for my daughter to pass onto her children. Each one has so much detail…I love them more every year when we take them out.
A New Year…
Well, Happy New Year to all. I hope everyone had some wonderful holidays. I know we had some crazy days! Everything always goes by so quickly. Things have been crazy and chaotic and they still are! Quinn is home sick from school, so things still aren’t back to normal.
We made so many great Christmas gifts this year…and of course I forgot to take pictures of them! Tuesday and Quinn made snakes and hippos for Gram and Bop’s Ark, we made Aunt Rose a beautiful cashmere scarf, Maggie got a homemade bag which was made from a recycled sweater. Quinn painted Unlce Denny a Jersey Devil shirt. He made Brian some embroidered socks. Tuesday made all her friends gifts and Quinn made his friends all wooden ornaments! We really had a lot of fun making everyone’s gifts!
Somehow, putting away all the Christmas stuff, just isn’t as fun as getting it out!
